Sunset over Caperneum

For Bible reading Christians time spent in the Broads is full of reminders of Jesus’ ministry in Galilee:

  • Walking by the waterside we meet fishermen.
  • We get into the boat and go to the other side.
  • We share a picnic on the shore.
  • We consider the flowers of the field and the birds of the air

Pilgrims and tourists are drawn to

All are well known but none of  the above are big pilgrim places like Walsingham or Lourdes. Our intention is to draw together a data base of small pilgrim places – sometimes working churches may be ruins -  lesser known -  where prayer has been valid – places with a  particular atmosphere of sanctity or somewhere on the edge, liminal places on the threshold of beckoning mystery.  Places the Celts call thin, where the spiritual dimension seems accessible.
